Following his hugely successful UK invasion in 2012, Germany’s top comedian, Michael Mittermeier, had a triumphant return to our beaches again in 2014 with his brand new show, das Blackout, which he brings to Soho Theatre in 2015.
das Blackout is an insider’s guide to Earth’s final frontier: the eerie yet fascinatingly dark landscape of the German soul (a mysterious place, where guilt, Schadenfreude and bratwurst co-exist alongside one another) and what it was like to grow up in 70’s Germany in the midst of Bavarian Lederhosen punk, Austrian nuclear intelligence, zombie invasion and cosmic scientific hijackers. But don’t panic, this is just Michael’s way to show the world that German funny bones should be an essential dish on every comedy connoisseur’s menu.
What better way to start the New Year than by watching Bavaria’s comedy powerhouse save the world from Universal political idiocy and narrow-minded thinking.
